This is National Better Vision Week.

In a stubborn refusal to comply with the spirit of the occasion, stern-faced Cambridge policemen have been confiscating copies of SEE and EYE magazines from local news stands.

The publications were banned by Cambridge Police Chief John R. King, who commented "If that's art, I never see any," as he peered at photographs or naked women in the current issues. Route policeman have been avidly grabbing copies of the publication to be used as evidence against dealers refusing to comply.

Local optometrists were reported forming a "light market" to hawk the shady publications, and one merchant stated that "after all, the magazines were probably too sexy for Harvard pupils." Paul W. Mandel '51, noted naval analyst, was quoted as saying "Urp!"
