Despite its usual lack of sufficient practice, the freshman hockey squad beat a supposedly tough Brown team 4 to 2 yesterday afternoon at the Arena for the second time this season.

Exams had not given Coach Stan Priddy's first line time for much practice, and the second line combination of Morgan Hatch, Jack Snelling, and Nat Harris went into the starting lineup. It was a good move, for this trio won the game by sliding in three of the four winning pucks.

But unlike the previous Brown game when he made thirty saves, goalie Ted Cook wasn't very busy. The defensemen helped him by keeping the zone cleared of Bruins with effective checking. And the Hatch, Snelling, Harris combination helped even more by playing their game in the attack zone.

In a game that slowed down often, wingman Rip Lynch, back from a long illness, knocked over Bruin skaters with his fast, scrappy playing. He also shot in one of the four pucks.

All through the game, Brown just couldn't put its plays together. The freshmen went on the ice pessimistically since they had barely won their first Brown game in the last few minutes. But the expected Bruin brilliance didn't exist.
