First Post-War Home Army Game May Sell Out Stadium

The Army football team in its first appearance here since 1942 promises to bring the largest crowd of the season to Soldiers Field next Saturday. In fact, HAA ticket manager Frank O. Lunden is expecting a sell-out.

Taking over almost four full sections, the senior class has geared itself for a gala weekend while pushing lower classmen down towards the end zone under the new "first come, first served" system of distributing ducats.

Juniors have filled up section 35 between the 20 and 30-yard lines, and sophomores yesterday bought out most of section 36. Freshmen will find only one section still left this morning on the playing side of the end zone. When this, number 37, is filled up, the Class of '53 will get seats at the other end of the field in section 27, and possibly in section 41 of the steel stands.

Army brass was in contact with the ticket office all day yesterday seeeking additional allocations on the Harvard side of the field. There seems little likelihood that any Army ducats in the original block of six sections will be returned unused. These seats, coupled with those of season ticket holders, assure a full house on the visitors' side.

Alumni have accounted for end zone seats in the concrete stands, while more than enough mail orders have been received to sell out the steel grandstand. Varsity Club men account for remaining Harvard side pasteboards.

At the time of last year's Army game at West Point, it was discovered that Harvard tickets allocated by the A.A.A. skirted the 50-yard line, choice seats going to speculators in New York. Rumors sprang up at that time to the effect that the HAA would this year get revenge when Army filed applications here. Lunden yesterday stated emphatically that no such action had been taken, and that Army's allotment is the same as all other visiting colleges will receive.
