The 1949 House Football championship may be at stake this afternoon when the undefeated Adams Gold Coasters run up against a strong Winthrop team that hoasts a record of two wins and one tie.
The Puritans had made it two straight over Kirkland and Leverett before being held to a 6-6 tie by a surprising Dudley eleven. On past performances, however, Adams will be favored.
A second game, also starting at 3:16 on Soldiers Field, matches the powerful T-formation of Eliot against Kirkland, last year's champions, who have not shown as well as expected to date. The Elephants, who have made a runaway of their last three games, are tied with Adams for the league lead.
In yesterday's touch-football contests, evenly-matched Lowell and Eliot battled to an 18-18 tie. The second game, scheduled between Adams and Dunster, was not played when the Funsters showed up short four players.
