Ivy Films Hears Gloria Swanson

Gloria Swanson, flamboyant screen actress of the silent movies, will unlock the secret chambers of her heart to reminisce on the old days in Hollywood at 8 p.m. tonight in Fogg Museum Theater.

Miss Swanson appears as a guest of Ivy Films. Both her talk and the showing of "Male and Female," one of her pictures, are open to the public. Although a silent film, "Male and Female" was one of Miss Swanson's latest flicks, having been released in 1919.

In her speech, Miss Swanson, a former Mack Sennett bathing beauty, will trace the development of Hollywood, and its changeover to talkies. She will be introduced by William Bird Van Lennep, curator of the theater collection of the college library.

Ivy Films generally holds its film series showings in the Lamont Forum Room on Wednesday nights.
