Class of '49 Ballots for Its Marshals Tomorrow

Class Committee Also Named in Elections

The Class of '49 will elect its three Marshals plus a permanent Class Committee in ballotting tomorrow, Amory Houghton Jr. '50, chairman of the Student Council's Class Affairs Committee announced last night.

Forty-six names have been placed on the ballot, Houghton revealed. These include the special Nominating Committee, made up of representatives from the eight Houses; those men nominated by the Nominating Committee; and an additional group who handed in petitions with 25 signatures in order to be eligible for the ballot.

Top Three Marshals

Counting of the ballots will be done on a straight numerical basis, Houghton stated, with the three top vote getters being named First, Second, and Third Marshals respectively. The next nine will receive positions on the Permanent Class Committee.

Nearly 500 ballots have already been mailed out to members of the Class of '49, Houghton said. Those who will vote by mail include commuters, men already graduated, and non-resident, non-graduate members of the Class of '49. These votes must reach the Council's Phillips Brooks House office by 6 p.m. today in order to be valid, Houghton explained.
