Three College graduates are among the eight young men recently appointed Junior Fellows for three years of study and research in the University's unique Society of Fellows.

Under the terms of the Fellowship, Albert S. Cook, Jr. '46, Joseph R. Levenson '41; and Thomas S. Kuhn '43 will got free room and board in one of the Houses plus $1,250 their first term and $1,500 their second.

Limited to men under 25 years of age, Junior Fellowships are awarded on the basis of the individual's promise of notable contribution to knowledge. Those chosen will be given complete freedom from academic regulations for degrees in order to devote all their time to productive scholarship.

Also selected were Nicholaas Bloembergen of Holland, Paul R. Garabedian of Norton, George D. Halsey, Jr. of Washington, D.C., Thomas C. Schelling of Cambridge, and Hao Wang of China.

Schelling is currently a teaching fellow in Economics. He will do research in economic theory.

Junior Fellows are selected for "their promise of notable contribution to knowledge and thought."
