Incoming '52 Receives Fifty Scholarships

Radcliffe College announced yesterday that of the 50 scholarships granted by the college to incoming freshmen for the year 1948-49, 13 of the awards have gone to Massachusetts residents.

Among this group is the winner of the James Adams Woolson prize in classics given annually to the incoming Freshman who makes the highest record on a competitive examination in classics held each April. She is Miss Marilyn Conte of Melrose, who will graduate from Melrose High School this month.

Pair of Regional Scholarships

Two regional scholarships, offered jointly by the college and local Radcliffe clubs are also included in the Massachusetts list. Miss Janet Fernald of Hanover received the Old Colony Radcliffe Club award and Miss Cynthia Wales of Marblehead won the North Shore Radcliffe Club scholarship.

In addition, Miss June Robert of Newton Highlands was awarded a special scholarship by the Radcliffe Club of Boston.
