If things go the way they've been going all year, the Jayvee baseball team should return from New Haven tomorrow with a victory in its season finale. Warren Berg's Freshman outfit seems doomed to end its campaign on a more dour note.
The Jayvees rolled up eight straight before Springfield put an end to their streak this week. Landon Clay, who has shouldered the brunt of the pitching chores all season, will be ready to go against the Blue tomorrow, with Roger Davis available if he is needed.
Steve Howe, currently flashing a sharp 465 batting average, should back up Clay's consistently stellar pitching with support at the plate.
Berg's pitching nomination will probably be George Emmons, although Roy Meears may get the nod. Both have performed well in a losing cause, Emmons turning back a strong Northeastern team on Tuesday for the Yardlings' second win of the season.
