A consistently losing crew from Springfield College will provide the anti-climatic finish to the Harvard increase season tomorrow afternoon at the Business School Field. After losing, 7 to 5, to Yale last Wednesday, the Crimson needs a win to preserve respectable standing in the New England Lacrosse League.
Such should not be too difficult, for thus far the physical educators have succumbed to all: Williams beat them, 16 to 10; M.I.T. beat them, 8 to 4; New Hampshire edged them by one marker. Bob Maddox's teat swamped M.I.T. and New Hampshire and lost a close one to Williams, but he is not overconfident.
Springfield Strong Once
"They've showed they can score, and they have improved with each game. One of these days they may regain prewar form." Springfield won the League on one occasion years ago and occasionally produces All-Americans.
Lineups and substitutes for the Crimson will be the same as those which faced Yale with the possible exception of defenseman Bob Forsyth, who was put out of action in the first quarter of the Eli loss. Last night Maddox thought he would probably be ready.
The lacrosse coaching command also announced that the following Freshmen had won numerals: Beckjord, Brown, Cantwell, Clark, Coburn, Cowen, Cowles, Fortmiller, Goodhue, Graham, Hansen, Hudner (captain), McGuire, Plissner, Post, Shuttleworth, Talbot, Taylor, Thayer, Waring, Young.
