HTW, HDC Rehearse Spring Offerings as Openings Near

Student actors are rapidly approaching the ulcer stage, as both College dramatic groups hastily prepare for the opening dates of their spring presentations.

Theater Workshop performances of "Richard H," starring Jerome T. Kilty '50, begin next Wednesday night in Sanders Theater, while the Dramatic Club is rounding Irwin Shaw's "The Survivors" into shape for Tuesday, April 20 deadline at the Plymouth Theater in Boston.

Fire regulations peculiar to pre-historic Sanders have forced the BTW back into the sixteenth century, when scenery was unheard of. Smartly attired pages will tote vast brightly colored banners onto the stage to suggest the tone and location of each scene.

HDC men have very different problems to contend with in their attempt to compete with the professional shows but gain in prestige may more than atone for added worries and possible decrease in net profits.

Wolcott Gibbs, famed dramatic critic of the "New Yorker," and Irwin Shaw, author of the play, will be among the celebrities on hand for opening night, and radio interviews have been arranged for several members of the cast and staff.

Tickets for all performances of both productions are on sale now at the Coop and PBH; HDC ducats are also available at the box office on Stuart Street in Boston.
