Strong play in the singles division of Saturday's tennis match with Amherst was the deciding factor in the Varsity's 6 to 3 win, its fifth straight victory of the season.
The only singles match that went to three sets was also the only one that went to Amherst. Wightman dropped this with a 6 to 1 loss in the final set.
Amherst came back in the doubles to win two of the three contests, but by that time the Crimson lead was too much to overcome. Both of the Amherst victories in this division were based on third set results.
The Freshmen made even shorter work of their Amherst counterparts, whipping them soundly 8 to 1.
