Spring Rainfall Thwarts Netmen

April showers have kept Crimson tennis courts clean, wet, and tenantless this week.

The Freshmen, who were flooded from the courts Monday in a 3 to 3 tie with Wesleyan, were once again swept from Soldiers Field yesterday before their match with Milton Academy. If the weather man restrains his forces, the postponed match will be run off this afternoon.

Coach Barnaby's Varsity squad has fared even worse than the Yardlings. They have a dearth of veteran teams, and, with the doubles pairs inexperienced and practically unpracticed, the drowned-out practice sessions hit even harder.

Williams and Amherst invade the Crimson courts tomorrow and Friday. Williams has almost the same team which took the Varsity last year 6 to 3, and its doubles teams should be whittled and polished for the match.

According to Barnaby, "it would be like drawing to an open-end straight, a straight which would have been a full but for the weather's intervention."
