University longhairs will have an opportunity to sample world-renowned technique when Serge Koussevitsky takes the baton to conduct the Boston Symphony Orchestra tonight in another of the current concert series, scheduled for 8:30 o'clock in Sanders Theater.
Koussevitsky has chosen a varied program, including both modern and classic works. Mozart's perennial favorite, the Serenade for Strings, Dine Kleine Nachtmusik, will be played, along with representative selections from three modern composers, Piston, Prokofieff, and Ravel.
In addition to the Mozart opus, Walter Piston's Symphony No. 3, Prokofiefi's Seythian Suite, Ala and Lolli, and Maurice Ravel's impressionistic Daphnis et Chloe Suite will be delivered before what is expected to be a sellout audience.
