The controversial issue of "boss rule" will come in for heated discussion tonight, when Law Forum speakers Robert S. Allen and Edward J. Flynn square off on the question: "Should Political Machines be Abolished in the United States?" at 7:45 o'clock in the Rindge Tech Auditorium.
Allen, who before the war was co-author, with Drew Pearson, of the "Washington Merry-Go-Round," has been a consistent critic of political machines, and recently edited "Our Fair City," an expose of machine technique.
The opposite viewpoint will be put forward by Flynn, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, and now Democratic party leader in the Bronx. He is expected to defend the need and usefulness of political machines, and will probably parallel the argument in his recent book, "You're the Boss," which was drawn from a life spent in politics.
