Ninety minutes of ferocious fighting produced nine finalists in the University Boxing Championships yesterday, as the trial rounds took place at the Blockhouse. All bouts were decided by decisions.
Tomorrow at 7:30 o'clock, fighters who drew byes will join the field for the semi-finals and finals.
John M. Bullitt '43.1G, who was favored to take the 145-pound championship, had to retire from competition after winning his trial bout, because of a sprained wrist. According to Intercollegiate Rules, his opponent, Matthew J. Peppard '51 will take his place tomorrow.

135-pound class: Dwyer defeated Sherwood; O'Keefe defeated Hagee; Weiss defeated Butler; Vera defeated Smith.
145-pound class: Knight defeated Harrington; Bullitt defeated Peppard; Franklin defeated Webster.
