Yard Cop Snares Early Bird Thief

Yard cop Richard Ikels thought something amiss early Saturday morning when he spied a lone figure leaving Thayer Hall with three topcoats, a jacket, and a new Underwood typewriter. Hauled in Cambridge city court, the man gave his name as Russel H. Peterson and later pleaded gulliy to a charge of larceny.

The occupants of the plundered room, Thayer 39, revealed that the lone burglar had overlooked a $200 bathrobe, a $100 silver cigarette case, and a bottle of sherry, Peter J. Shumons '51, Lewis N. Travia '51, and James H. Wright '51 said the door of their room had been left unlocked.

Fred G. Cammann '51, also a resident of Thayer, had earlier seen Peterson trying the doors in the south entry.
