HTW Rounds Out 'Murder' Casting As HDC Continues Hunting Director

Leaders of the Theater Workshop's "Murder in the Cathedral" made further preparation yesterday for their April production when they completed final casting of T. S. Eliot verse-play. Simultaneously the Harvard Dramatic Club continued its search for a director for its own "The Surivors" when refusal came last night from the leading prospect.

HTW President-Director Jerome T. Kilty '50 announced the nine principals of his group's offering, which hits the boards of the Germanic Museum April 18 for a one-week run.

In the four leading roles are Robert Keaghy as First Tempter; Bryant N. Halliday '49 as Third Tempter; Thayer David as Fourth Tempter; and Kilty as Archbishop.

80 Men Compete

Other principals in the HTW cast, chosen from the 80 students who appeared at tryouts, are; Frank Cammusun as Messenger; Edward A. Callan, Jr. as First Priest; Miles Morgan '50 as Second Priest; and Dibble Neuhans as Third Priest.

As the HTW went ahead with production, the Dramatic Club heard from Lee Strasburg, veteran Broadway producer, who announced that he would be unsble to direct "The Survivor" owing to pressure of other duties. However, he did consent to join Drian Shaw, the play's author, in revising the HDC script.

"The Survivors" opens a week's stand at the Ersille Street Theater on April 81.
