Among the names on state election ballots today will be that of Timothy J. Howes '48 1L, who is fighting for a seat in the General Court, lower chamber of the Massachusetts legislature.
Howes, whose law school studies this fall have been only secondary to his political candidacy, is running in the Holyoke district. He captured the Republician nomination after an extensive campaign in the September primaries. Howes will be opposed by Walter Billon, a law student from Boston College.
Continues Studies
The major part of Howes' election campaign took place over weekends when the law student journeyed to the election district for radio speeches and canvassing. During the week he has been here at Law School while his brother David continued working for him at Holyoke.
If elected, Howes will still continue at Law School, since General Court sessions are not year-round
