Frederick M. Fialkow '51, chairman of the Phillips Brooks House blood committee, last night announced a total of 144 pints of blood had been received during the committee's two-day drive.
The original goal for the campaign called for 200 pints, but 79 students were turned away by the Red Cross bloodmobile for being under the state-enforced 21-year-old age limit. Massachusetts law permits service men from the ages of 18 to 21 to contribute blood, but makes no provision for college students.
Red Cross officials are now considering taking action to persuade the state to alter the law.
