Quartet trials to determine, which 70 of Radcliffe's Choral Society will sing with the Harvard Glee Club in its presentation of Handel's "Messiah" December 1 ended yesterday after every member of the club had been tested.
Chosen on the basis of their grade in these trials and the regularity of their attendance at rehearsals, the successful choralists will also travel to Bowdoin on December 4. Two days later they will join the Bowdoin Glee Club in a concert at Portland, Maine.
Difficult Job
Director of the society, G. Wallace Woodworth '24, and the club officers judged and graded the quartets. "It is never an easy job to select 70 from 200 good voices," Barbara Connelly '49, president of Choral, remarked. "Of course they all want to be in the concert."
An even smaller number of girls will be chosen to sing carols with the University choral group in Memorial Church at Christmastime.
