Dues Paid in At 'Cliffe Top $6,000 Figure

Silver, bills, and checks totalling $6,000 crossed the palms of Student Government Association tellers during Radcliffe's Pay Days last week, Joan Braverman '50, treasurer of the Association, announced last night.

More than 750 Radcliffe students have paid up an average of $7.25 apiece to date, Miss Braverman calculates. The 100-odd girls still unassesed are expected to turn in their money at the dean's office sometime this week. Final tallies are expected to top $8000.

Grace for Laggards

One week's grace will be given laggard students, a Student Government spokesman said yesterday, but a heavy fine will be levied on those who have not paid after Saturday. Only persons with iron-bound excuses for not paying will be allowed longer deferments.

Within the next two weeks, club treasurers will be mailed Student Government checks for the dues paid for their clubs. Presidents of these organizations will receive at the same time the master membership list of their groups, since all official lists are drawn up from Pay Day records.

Pay Day ceremonies Thursday and Friday went off without a hitch, according to Miss Braverman, who reported that no student refused to pay the compulsory $5.75 fee levied on all girls. Last year, one objector protested for several weeks to student and faculty officers before she paid up.
