Soccer Team Smashes Outclassed Tufts, 5-0

Estin Tallies Three Times

Tufts had only two shots at the Harvard goal all yesterday afternoon as the smooth passing; Varsity soccer team rolled to a one-sided 5 to 0 victory over the boys from Medford on the Business School Field. Conceivably the score could have been much higher, but Coach Bruce Munro played his first string only half the game and then let his second and third teams take over.

Although at times the Varsity was beaten to the ball by the active Jumbos, the game was never close as the Crimson sharpened up its short-passing game is preparation for Dartmouth. Tufts was bottled up in its own half of the field for all but a few minutes during the game and was never able to penetrate the Crimson defense in front of the goal. Superior Crimson control and ball-handling settled the game from the outset.

Estin, Potter Score

Center-forward Hans Estin captured the scoring honors for the Varsity with one goal in the first period and two in the third. Estin's first score came when he banged the ball off a Tufts fullback into the nets while his other two were kicks from melees in front of the Jumbo nets.

Captain Phil. Potter scored the other two goals, both on 20-yard slants past Tufts goalie Bill Draw, who was besieged by Crimson shots all afternoon.
