William L. Marbury, 47-year-old Baltimore lawyer, has been elected a Fellow of the Harvard Corporation, University Hall announced last night. Marbury, first new member to be elected since 1938, succeeds the late Henry James.
A graduate of the University of Virginia in 1921 and the Harvard Law School in 1924, Marbury made a distinguished record in legal service to the War Department during World War II. He was awarded the Medal for Merit, highest honor given a civilian in recognition of war service.
Maryland Practice
The new Fellow of the University, a member of Phi Beta Kappa and former associate editor of the Harvard Law Review, began practicing law in Maryland and served as assistant Attorney General of Maryland before his war-long association with the legal staff of the War Department.
Marbury left the War Department in September, 1945, to resume his private law practice in Baltimore.
