Observatory to Begin Open Nights July 28

Amateur stargazers, anxious for a glimpse of the heavens above, will get their first chance to observe celestial doings at the Harvard Observatory on Monday, July 28, it was announced yesterday.

The night's program will begin at 8 o'clock with a lecture by Lawrence H. Adler, of Indiana University, who will speak on "What Makes the Stars Shine?" Then, if the weather permits, guests will be able to look at the stars through telescopes.

Rain or shine, photographic plates from the largest astronomical collection in the world will be on display, as well as an exhibit of books written by professors at the University. Tickets may be obtained by mailing a self-addressed envelope to the Observatory.
