WASHINGTON, May 2--Mustering enough votes to override a Presidential vote, the Senate today slapped a provision into its General Labor Bill forbidding union enercion of workers.
The amendment, sponsored by both Democrats and Republicans, was adopted by a roll-call vote of 60 to 28. This gave supporters one vote more than the two thirds majority the lineup remains the same on any vote test.
It was the first stop in a move by Senators Taft (R-Ohio) and Ball (R-Minn) to write into the bill several union restrictions disapproved by the Senate Labor Committee.
