Yardling Defeat Andover Nine, 3-0 As Jayvees Lose

Johnny Hansen, ace Freshman southpaw, racked up his fourth straight win yesterday as he shut out Andover 3 to 0, raising to 36 the total of innings he has pitched without giving up an earned run. The Jayvees, afflicted with fielding weakness and pitching wildness, dropped a 4 to 1 decision to the New Hampshire juniors here.

Johnny Goldsmith continued his recent hitting streak in the contest at Andover coming up with two hits and figuring in the first two scores. He singled in the fifth, moved up as two teammates walked, and crossed the plate on Glimp's grounder.

Cliff Crosby singled in the sixth, advanced on Frank Lionette's sacrifice, and galloped home as Goldsmith again singled. The final Yardling tally came in the seventh as Glimp and Huntington singled and the Andover pitcher threw Crosby's grounder past the first baseman, letting Glimp tally.

The Freshman lineup: 3b, Chase; cf, Glimp; 2b, Huntington; rf, Kobusch; c, Crosby; 1b, Lionette; lf, Ayres; ss, Goldsmith; p, Hansen.
