Two hundred Freshmen swarmed into the Union Common Room last night and in a noisy, 90-minute convention nominated 25 men of the Class of 1950 for three Freshman seats on the 1947-48 Student Council.

The precedent-smashing assembly, first all-class nominating meeting in the history of the College, is the prelude to a "rotating-ballot" type election on May 29 that, in similar manner will for the first time give Freshmen the franchise in Council elections.

"After it got going, it was a considerable success," Edric A. Weld, Jr. '46, Council member in charge of Freshmen affairs and chairman of the meeting, commented last night. More than the required quorum of 150 men was present at 7 o'clock when Council President Richard G. Axt '46, introduced by Weld, briefly outlined the duties and requirements of a Council member.
