The Class of 1947 filled out its slate of permanent officers last night when Roswell B. Perkins 1L of Milton and formerly of Eliot House became secretary and Nathan Weston of Framingham Center and Dunster House was named permanent treasurer by the newly elected class committee.
Perkins finished right behind the three marshals in last week's balloting for the permanent class committee. First marshal Thomas L. P. O'Donnell, making the announcement for the committee, pointed out that Weston is, by tradition, also a member of the 12-man body.
At the same time, O'Donnell disclosed that in the absence of a Class Day Committee the permanent group was going ahead with plans for the Class Day exercises in June. "There just is not time," he said, "for the election and organization of a new committee."
Cowen Will Take Charge
Second Marshal Robert Cowen 2nd will be in charge of Class Day and will act as first marshal at commencement, O'Donnell having already graduated. Assisting Cowen in Class Day management will be William M. Ayres, third marshal.
The '47 Class Committee has invited to participate in the Class Day preparations men who were elected to their own Class Day or permanent committees but who, because of the wartime interruption of their education, will this year be graduating without their classes.
