AVC Plans Dance On Patriot's Day, Early May Dinner

Chapter Hopes to Raise Funds For Delegation to National Meeting Slated for Summer

A College-wide dance in Memorial Hall April 19 will open the Harvard AVC chapter's fund-raising efforts for its delegation to this summer's national convention.

Ken Edwards, local handleader-drummer and himself a disabled vet, has contracted to play at the affair. His ten-piece band and vocalist will keynote the informal dance, scheduled to run from 8 to 12 o'clock on Patriot's Day.

Other facets of the fund drive include a banquet at the Hotel Commander May 8 for chapter members at which Charles G. Bolte, national chairman of AVC, will be the guest of honor. A raffle is included on the program.

The sum raised will pay the expenses of ten students who will represent the Harvard chapter at the Chicago conference this summer. With a current membership of 783, the unit is one of the largest in the country, and hopes to send a representative delegation. Lacking funds at present, the chapter's finance committee under the direction of William E. Nelson 2G is depending on the drive for its entire conference expenses.
