Over 40 prospective candidates appeared at the Advocate Building on Bow Street yesterday, as the revived undergraduate literary magazine launched its initial post-war competition.
According to Donald B. Watt, Jr. '47, interim chairman of the board, three issues will be published this term, with the first one going on sale March 24. In order to get the publication back on its feet, the first issue will be composed primarily of manuscripts submitted by the candidates. Election to the board will take place immediately following the completion of the first issue.
The competitions will be closed officially on Wednesday night, but Watt emphasized that the office will remain open from 7:30 to 11 o'clock every night this week.
Although the turnout for the literary board was excellent, a few competent candidates are needed for the business board, Watt added.
