Protest,

To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

We protest the "JA" election which was foisted upon the student body by the Student Council today. On the ballot, under the heading "University-Wide" Food Conservation Poll" the student body was told, in a more three paragraphs, of all the wonderful things a "yes" vote would accomplish. Nothing appeared on the ballot to state the case for a "no" vote.

We submit that this is contrary to any of the recognized forms of democratic balloting. We had been led to believe that this kind of voting had been discarded once and for all by the end of the Hitler regime. How can such a procedure as this give on unbiased picture of student opinion?
