Sixty-five musicians will open the combined Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra's season next Friday evening in Sanders Theatre.
Joining the Orchestra in the concert is the Radcliffe Choral Society. Works on the evening's program include three movements from Schubert's Fifth Symphony, and selections of Bach, Couperin, and Weinberger.
The Choral Society will concentrate on works of Bach and American folk songs.
Additional concerts are scheduled at schools in the New England area throughout the year.
The oldest symphonic group in continuous existence anywhere in the United States, the orchestra also plans to carry on with the plan it initiated last year of playing for the first time anywhere now student compositions.
