Chip Gannon yesterday became the first College football player to win national accolade this year when he was picked on the backfield of the Associated Press' All-Eastern second team. Four other members of the latest Harlow aggregation, Wally Flynn, Howie Houston, Emil Drvaric, and Hal Moffie, were the recipients of Honorable Mention awards.

Only Crimson opponent to gain a first team award was Frank Burns, flashy T quarterback from Rutgers, who starred in the Scarlet's 31-7 rout on November 1.

On the second team, however, there was a large sprinkling of this year's opposition. Among those chosen was Fred "Bull" Nadherny, who accompanies the Chipper in the backfield.

Four Opponents Named

Faces familiar to Stadium-goers occupy three other positions on the second-string team picked by the press service's poll of coaches, scouts, officials and sports writers. These are Tom Finical of Princeton and Dale Armstrong of Dartmouth at the two ends, and Brown's Norm Iacuele at a guard position.

Every one of the Varsity's seven eastern opponents placed at least four men on the Honorable Mention roster, with Princeton's seven men topping the pack.
