Eliot's Eleven Wallops Yard Gridmen 12-0

Dudley Takes Close One from Dunster

Eliot's high-riding Mastodons moved into top slot in the House football league yesterday as they downed the Yard team 12-0 for their fourth straight win of the season. On adjacent Soldiers Field turf Dudley eked out a 14-7 triumph over Dunster.

Held scoreless for three periods, the Eliot attack finally broke loose for two late scores. Quarterback Dave McGiffert passed to Austie Lyne for a 75-yard scorin play, and a few minutes later Lyne climaxed a second march by crashing through right tackle from the one-yard line for the clincher.

Bishop Scores

A fifteen-yard run to paydirt by quarterback Dave Bishop of the Commuters clinched a win for them over the Funsters. Earlier scores had been registered by the losers and by left half "Donut" Duncan of Dudley. The winners converted after both scores, once on a plunge by Bishop and once on a Bishop-to-Marshall pass.

By virtue of their win, the Eliot gridmen climbed into a tie with Kirkland, leaving the probable settling of final House supremacy to the November 10 clash between the leaders.
