Thirty-five members of the Freshman football squad will make the 30-mile trek to the "Hill" this afternoon for the tradition-laden grid contest with Andover Academy. Kickoff time is 2:30 o'clock.
Returning to the prep school with the Yardling eleven will be guard Bill Rosenau, who was one of the schoolboys' big defensive guns in Andover's 21 to 7 defeat of last year's Freshmen. Rosenau, weighing in at 194, is slated to be at right guard for the Crimson.
No specific Andover tactics have been emphasized in recent Yardling defense practices, but Rosenau is expected to impart his familiarity with Andover tricks as well as his powerful blocking and defensive work to the efforts of his new alma mater.
Some Starters Still Uncertain
The starting squad is set, according to Lamar, except for one or two spots. Among these is the fullback position, currently resting between Johnny White and James Russell Lowell, grandson of the late president of the University.
The starting lineup as released by Lamar marks changes over early practice indications. Bob Tolf, who came out for tackle, was switched to end in practices and will start the game at right end. Sam Butler, who will start in the middle of the line, was brought up to fill the gap left by the injury of center O'Brien, who is temporarily sidelined.
Sitter At Tackie
Troy Sitter has also worked out at both tackle and end posts but the 207 pound Arlingtonian will begin at right tackle.
Meanwhile the Freshman "B" squad started the season yesterday by downing a Roxbury Latin School eleven 12 to 0. An off tackle plunge by Andrews in the second period and a quarterback sneak by Tomasello scored the two Crimson tallies.
The starting lineup for the Andover game; le, Bender; lt, Sedgwick; lg, Coyne; c, Butler; rg, Rosenau; rt, Sitter; re, Tolf; qb, Stearns; lhb, Bottenfield; rhb, West; fb, White or Lowell.
