A massive display of fireworks, military and naval aircraft, air manuvers, two bands, dancers and stunt events may be witnessed by the public on Thursday at 4:30 o'clock. The spectacle, which is to take place in the Charles River Basin, is sponsored by the Boston Herald in celebration of its 100th year of journalism.
Marking the first anniversary of V-J Day, the military and naval air forces will put on an exhibition similar to that which attracted thousands of New Englanders to the Bedford Army Air Base last week.
Over 100 aircraft will participate in the show. Among them will be a flight of at least six B-29 Super fortresses, the army's famed jet-propelled P-80 which has been clocked at nearly 600 miles per hour, and several types of navy carrier based planes.
