NEW YORK-Congressman Donald O'Toole of New York and promoter Mike Jacobs squared off verbally today for a fight that promised to be far more entertaining than last night's Louis-Conn fiasco, the cause of their hostilities.
At Washington, Representative O'Toole announced that he has instructed his lawyers in New York to bring a $100,000 criminal libel suit against Jacobs for "accusing me of extortion."
O"Toole's announcement came as a quick counter-punch to Jacob's statement that O'Toole was trying to stir up an investigation of the Louis-Conn farce because O'Toole's office allegedly had asked Mike for complimentary tickets to the fight and had been refused.
