Outing Clubbers Clout Hits By Dozens to Down 'Cliffians

They tried batting left handed. They tried batting loft handed with one hand. They tried running backwards. They tried running backwards on one leg. Eventually they got around to using the bat as a billiard cue and fielding the ball from the tail end.

But despite all these classic methods of pulling into a batting slump, the Outing Club still managed to outscore its Radcliffe counterpart last Saturday in the annual baseball fest. "We just couldn't seem to make an out; everything we touched got us to first base," said one sad O.C. slugger.

"Wait until next year," he added, "we're going to bat with five cent cigars, and they'll get shorter every inning 'cause we're gonna smoke 'em in between."
