At long last, the University's language clubs will be united under one roof when they take over the Cannon House as a center this term. During the war, the large white home, located behind the Germanic Museum, was used by the School of Overseas Administration.
However, the school is moving out this week, and the building will be ready for the new occupants shortly. Among the organizations that have been provided with offices and other facilities by this move are the French, Russian, Italian, and German clubs.
Provost Paul H. Buck, in announcing the decision, stated that he hoped this new development will be a helpful addition to the regular curricular language studies." Previously, the societies have had to meet in members' rooms, or in the Houses.
Chairman of the committee appointed to make detailed plans for the use of the building is William Berrien, professor of Romance Languages and Literatures.
