Biographies in Blue

CAPTAIN DICK HOLLINGSHEAD, packing 210 pounds on his six foot two inch frame, is a sixty minute workhorse and an important factor in Yale's record of nine wins in thirteen games since he took over at the right tackle berth. An outstanding performer in last year's East-West tilt, Holingshead in Eli's sixty-seventh captain to lead his cohorts against the Crimson.

ENDS

JACK RODERICK is well remembered by Crimson fans. Last year, he caught seven passes for over 100 yards, to contribute more than his share to the Crimson's 28 to 0 drubbing. Six feet tall, 185 pounds, the glue-fingered left wing man saw 55 minutes of action in the East-West game two years ago, shortly before entering the Navy.

VINNY LYNCH shared pass reception honors with Roderick last week against Princeton. Six-feet three-inches tall, the 195-pound right end makes a fine target for the passes of Tex Furse.

DICK JENKINS, six foot, 190-pound right end is the fastest man on the Eli squad. A stand-out down-field blacker and always one of the first blue warriors down under punts, he has spent much of his time this year in enemy backfields.

TACKLES

BILL SCHULER, 204 pound left tackle who played with Auburn before the war, was another contributor to the Crimson defeat last year. He has been one of Eli's defensive rocks this fall.

ED PIVCEVICH, understudy to Hollingshead last year, is still in that capacity; but he has been well versed in both right and left tackle duties this year to provide relief at either spot. The 18 year old, 210 ponder will be the first to get the call if injuries crop up.

GUARDS

FRITZ BARZILAUSKAS, although at 26 the oldest man on the Yale squad, still manages to pack his 220 pounds around the left guard slot with amazing agility. The most vicious tackler in the veteran Eli line, he plays in the middle of the five-man defensive foreward wall.

JOHN PRCHLIK, king-pin of the 1944 Yale foreward wall, is a sixty-minute ball player as well as the Eli's heavy-weight wrestler. The six feet three inch right guard's blocks from his running guard position have received approval from Eli fans all fall.

VIC FRANK serves as relief man for the entire center of the Eli line. Last week against Princeton, the 19-year-old freshman played center, guard and tackle whenever Howie Odell wanted to rest one of his regular forwards.
