THE MAIL

To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

In regards to the present controversy over the A.B.-S.B. degrees, may I offer a suggestion, perhaps not original, but a possible solution.

Let us eliminate one of the degrees, preferably the S.B., since for the majority the A.B. is the more coveted prize. But, let us keep the Latin or Greek requirement through the following system.

make Latin or Greek the requirement for high School graduation, because in High School a student is first introduced to the problems of study. Latin and Greek are well recognized as excellent background subjects for discipline and training in the use of available study time, coordination of mind and mouth, and also provide a setting for oral and written expression.
