Lowell and Dunster moved into a deadlock for third place in the House football league yesterday as the Bellboys dumped Adams 7 to 0, and the Funsters took the measure of Eliot, 6 to 0. Because of these simultaneous victories and the fact that each team has only one more game to play, the Lowell-Dunster fracas, scheduled for next Monday, assumes the proportions of a "natural."
Pass interceptions paved the way for the Bellboy touchdown and margin of victory by setting the Gold Coasters back deep in their own territory. When two penalties thwarted an attempt to score from the five, Lowell intercepted again on the 40, from where Bill Ayres drove to the 25. Loring Briggs flipped a short pass to Pat Bowditch in the fl at and Bowditch went over standing up. Dan Silver, whose kickoffs this season have suggested big-time football, booted the extra point.
Dunster threatened on two occasions in the first half of its game with Eliot; but not until the third period could the Funsters break through the stubborn, big red wall to score. Jim Aldrich carried off-tackle at midfield and galloped 45 yards to the Elephant five. After two plays had moved the ball to the one-foot line, Chuck MacDonald cracked over for the game's only touchdown.
