Winthrop will play Lowell while Kirkland faces Dunster on Wednesday, Oct. 16, to inaugurate the 1946 House football season, according to Adolph Samborski, director of intramural athletics, who released the schedule yesterday afternoon.
Each House will play about two contests a week in a round-robin tournament which will include one game with each opponent, climaxed, in most cases, with a match against one of the Yale colleges on Friday before the Yale game.
Leverett won the football championship in 1942, the last year of intramural competition before activities were suspended because of the war. The winning House each year receives the House Perpetual Football Trophy given by J. Dudley Clark '03.
