Articles of the Student Council constitution dealing with duties and powers were discussed last night at a meeting of the Council Constitution committee in Phillips Brooks House, and a new section was agreed upon "to cooperate with students from other colleges on a national and international scale."
It was also decided that all student organizations responsible financially to the Council, such as the Redbook and Album Committees, should report to it semi-annually.
Referendums Discussed
Long discussions were held on the question of student body referendums, with particular attention to the problem of how students could demand such referendums without subjecting the Council to the consideration of matters which might be deemed foolish or bothersome.
Decisions on topics discussed last night will be made at the next meeting after the hour exams. Meanwhile, these various topics have been assigned to sub-committees for suggested wordings.
The appointment of Phillip M. Stern '47, of Adams House, to replace L. Magruder Passano '46, as secretary of the Committee, was announced. Passano was forced to resign because of pressure from his duties with the Crimson Network. Chairman Edric A. Weld '46 announced that the Crimson Network Forum on constitutional reforms originally scheduled for tonight has been cancelled.
