FRESHMAN HOUSES COMMENCE INTRAMURAL CAMPAIGN TODAY

Newcomers Scurry to Weld But Landlubbers Still Sought

Under the direction of Jack Ellison of Phillips Brooks House, all Freshmen this summer will have the opportunity to participate in practically any sport of their choosing. Baseball, softball and tennis contests have already been arranged, with the three Freshman dormitories of Standish, Smith and Gore competing for the House championships.

Absenteeism has already been reported on the organized sports front and several of the athletic directors feel that the new Freshmen are not aware that cuts have already been meted out to the absent offenders. The stress that cut athletic appointments meet with the same discipline as do missed appointments in the classrooms.

Many athletics are open to incoming Freshmen this summer, and the great majority are reported to have taken up crew. The Charles River, while holding a singular fascination for inlanders, sometimes makes new students forget that eight other sports are on the agenda: lacrosse, tennis, soccer, baseball, track, and others.
