Greater Boston's new Veterans' Administration Guidance Center soon to be opened at the University will have little direct effect upon Harvard's present program to aid and advice returning servicemen, declared Payson S. Wild, Jr., associate professor of Government and counsellor for veterans.

Working under the authority of Congress's Vocational Rehabilitation Act, the Guidance Center will deal primarily with disabled veterans. It will be the purpose of its staff to outline a vocational program on recommend a particular school and course of study. The counsellor for veterans will cooperate with the Center only in the case of men applying or admission to Harvard College or the University.

In addition to their duties as a clearing house between the University and the new Center, Wild and his staff in Weld Hall answer all inquiries from veterans interested particularly in Harvard. Since in founding in November of last year, Wild's office has handled an increasing number of questions addressed, for the most part, by mail.

For ex-servicemen already attending the University, Wild's office provides special advisers and makes arrangements with the Bursar in regard to tuition credits from the government and various other allowances to which the men may be entitled.
