Standish Leads Company C In Second Intramural Race

Play to End Tuesday With Clash of Rivals

With but three contests remaining in the intramural play, Standish has moved into a one and one-half game lead over a faltering Company C outfit. The Freshmen will be idle today as the V-12ers take on Adams, and Company C must win the contest if it is to meet Standish Tuesday for the championship.

Standish kept its winning streak intact Wednesday without even a battle, taking a forfelt win from Companies A-B. Although Company C prevailed over a weak F-G club yesterday, 15 to 9, Company D pulled a surprise upset triumph over the Navy runner-ups, handing them their first loss of the season, 32 to 29.

Gold Coasters Shade Bellboys

The most spirited contest of the week, however, was the Adams-Lowell thriller on Wednesday, which Adams won, 22 to 21, gaining revenge for a previous debacle. As the final horn was sounded, Lowell held a 20 to 19 advantage, but Baskell and Donahoe committed a multiple foul on high-scorer Monty Singer of the Gold Coasters. The unique affair ended as Singer colly sank two fouls in a row.

In the only other game yesterday, Lowell swamped NROTC Companies H-I, 65 to 18, as Donahoe and Hatton contributed a total of 47 points between them. On Tuesday, Company D toppled Adams, 47 to 28, while Lowell took a forfeit from Companies A-B.
