Copland to Lecture on Administrative Control

Douglas B. Copland, sole Australian to be presented an honorary degree by President Conant at the Tercentenary in 1936, will give four lectures at the Littauer Center on successive evenings beginning Monday. Upon, his appointment to the University as Godkin lecturer, Copland will speak on "Administrative Controls in a Free Economy."

The economist gained his reputation as the man who brought Australia out of the depression early in the 1930s. He is Economic Consultant to the Prime Minister of Australia and Commonwealth Prices Commissioner, as well as dean of the Faculty of Commerce of the University of Melbourne.
