Debaters Discuss Plant Conversion

Council Plans to Deliberate Peace Question on Monday

In an intra-club debate in the Adams House Upper Common Room last night, the Harvard Debate Council discussed the question "Resolved: that the United States Government should retain postwar ownership and operation of the defense industries under its control." The decision was awarded to the affirmative.

Participating were G.B. Moore of the NROTC, and Arthur Sporn '47, taking the affirmative, and Richard Gill '48 and Robin Worthington '47 defending the negative. Another debate will be held at the same place and time next Monday, when the group will consider the problem, "Resolved: that Germany shall be split up into separate political units.

Two members of the Council will journey to Williamstown next Saturday for a debate against Williams College.
